MDC resumes work on W. Hartford sewer leg

The Metropolitan District Commission has restarted work on a new line to link hundreds of West Hartford homes and businesses to its sprawling regional sewer network.

Work resumed April 1, according to the quasi-public regional agency that provides drinking water and sewer services to eight member cities and towns in central Connecticut. The project, on Lexington Avenue, between Farmington Avenue and Boulevard, will include the installation of new sewer pipe so the areas existing line may be dedicated to storm runoff.

The MDC will hold a construction outreach meeting April 25 at 6:30 p.m. at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 679 Farmington Avenue, to update residents on the project’s purpose, process, and its community impact.
