McGurk named CT state Regent

Gov. Dannel P. Malloy has appointed William J. McGurk to the state college system’s Board of Regents.

McGurk was president and CEO of Rockville, which has since merged with United Bank, from 1980 until his retirement in 2011. He previously worked for several banks in Massachusetts.

McGurk previously served on the state’s Community College Board of Trustees, which has since disbanded.

The regents oversee the state’s 17 colleges and universities.
