Liam McGee, chairman and chief executive officer of Hartford Financial Services Group, in 2009 was one of the 10 lowest-paid CEOs at companies listed on the S&P 500, The Associated Press reports.
The AP’s analysis includes companies that filed proxy statements with the Securities and Exchange Commission between Jan. 1 and April 30.
The total pay figures are rounded and are based on the AP’s compensation formula, which adds up salary, perks, bonuses, preferential interest rates on pay set aside for later, and company estimates for the value of stock options and stock awards on the day they were granted last year.
McGee ranked as the 7th lowest-paid chief executive, bringing in $341,654 according to the AP’s tally.
He finished ahead of Apple CEO Steve Jobs, who was the lowest paid CEO, making $1 in 2009, but behind No. 10 Warren Buffet who brought in $519,490, AP said.
