MassMutual’s retirement division, which is based in Enfield, is rolling out a gaming app to up its appeal to Millennials.
The company’s chief marketing officer for its retirement services and worksite insurance said the FutureJet game helps MassMutual connect with more Americans and promote the importance of saving, especially long-term savings for retirement.
According to MassMutual, based on Pew Center research, 67 percent of adults between the ages of 18 and 29 are the most likely to say they play video games. Overall, 49 percent of American adults play video games on a computer, TV, game console or portable device such as a smartphone.
“There is no denying the popularity of video games. MassMutual has found that the more tightly we connect with the interests of our customers, the more successful we are in convincing them of the importance to save for retirement,” Heather Smiley, the division’s CMO said in a statement.
