Mass. man files suit in Kleen Energy explosion

A Massachusetts man seriously injured in an explosion at a Middletown power plant last year has filed a lawsuit against the $1 billion plant’s operators and major contractors, The Associated Press reports.

Christopher Robison, injured in last year’s deadly explosion at the Kleen Energy power plant in Middletown, worked for Keystone Construction and Maintenance Services Inc. of Rowley, Mass.

He and his wife, Michelle, are seeking at least $6 million in damages.

His lawyer tells The Hartford Courant that Robison suffered physical injuries and severe post-traumatic stress.

The Feb. 7, 2010 explosion killed six people. It occurred after natural gas was forced through pipelines at a tremendous pressure to clear debris.

Dozens of other lawsuits have been filed in the case. Plant owners have denied any wrongdoing.
