Mass. lender Westfield Bank targets Granby branch

Southern Massachusetts lender Westfield Bank wants to open its first out-of-state branch in Granby, and will station a veteran Connecticut banker there.

Thomas Glynn, a long-time mortgage lender in the Farmington Valley, will oversee the planned branch at Granby Village Shops, 10 Hartford Ave.

Westfield Bank CEO James C. Hagan said the lender has filed application with bank regulators for branch approval.

The bank says it also is searching for a commercial lender and a branch manager with ties to Granby and the northern Connecticut region.
