Mass.-based chain pays $1.5M for Glastonbury filling station

Global Montello Group Corp. paid $1.5 million for a Glastonbury convenience store property in January, adding to its holdings of convenience and fill-up stations.

Global Montello shares its Waltham, Mass. address, and several of its corporate officers, with Global Partners LP.

Global Partners describes itself as “one of the Northeast’s largest independent owners, suppliers and operators of gasoline stations and convenience stores.”

The company says it owns, controls or has access to one of the largest terminal networks in New England and New York, according to the company website.

Milford-based CPCI sold the 1-acre property at 592 Hebron Ave. to Global Montello in a deal recorded Jan. 28. The property comes with a 61-year-old, 1,710-square-foot convenience store equipped with retail fuel islands.

CPCI paid $980,000 for the property in 2014. Richard V. Wiehl, of Boston, is listed as principal for the seller in state business records.

Eric Slifka, of Wellesley, Mass., is president and CEO of Global Montello, according to state business records. Slifka is also president and CEO of Global Partners, according to the company website.

Global Montello’s other principals include Andrew Slifka, Mark Romaine, Matthew Spencer, Sean T. Geary, Gregory Hanson and Margaret Niekrash, according to state records. Spencer, Hanson, Romaine and Geary are also listed as officers on the Global Partners website.
