Marriott International, Inc. announced Wednesday the company will install load response capability across more than 250 of its hotel properties, including in Connecticut.
Load response reduces the electrical consumption of a facility whenever electricity prices rise or the electric grid needs extra capacity.
Baltimore-based Constellation Energy – which operates power plants in New England, along with other energy-related businesses – will install the necessary load response equipment.
The equipment will cover 23 megawatts of load response at hotels in new England, New York, Texas, California and the mid-Atlantic.
