Dr. Kenneth Marcus, longtime mental health administrator for the state, is the new chief clinical officer for Community Mental Health Affiliates Inc. in New Britain.
Marcus will oversee all psychiatric and medical care for the agency’s clients.
He previously was medical director for the state Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services, and was CEO of Connecticut Valley Hospital of Middletown.
Marcus received his psychiatric residency and fellowship training at Yale University and his medical training at New York University School of Medicine.

He has served on the Yale faculty, and he maintains a private practice in New Haven. He is a Distinguished Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association.
