Marcum, a national accounting and advisory services firm with a significant presence in Hartford, continues its expansion. It has added a Philadelphia firm to its growing ranks.
Effective Dec. 1, Marcum announced it will merge with Smart, Devine & Company LLC, a full-service accounting and consulting firm with offices in Philadelphia’s Center City and King of Prussia, PA.
Earlier this month Marcum announced its merger with a Midwest firm. That was its first expansion into that part of the country.
Marcum has Connecticut offices in Hartford, Greenwich and New Haven. As of January 2015 Marcum had 125 staffers in Hartford, including 54 partners, according to the Hartford Business Journal’s Book of Lists. Nationally it employs 1,400 professionals, including over 180 partners, in 25 full-service offices in major business markets throughout the U.S., Grand Cayman and China.
