Manufacturer, electrical business ink North Branford leases

A manufacturer who makes defibrillators and an electrical company both recently leased spaces at 21 Commerce Dr., North Branford.

Kevin and Kristin Geenty of The Geenty Group, Realtors of Branford represented the landlord, W. E. Hitchcock LLC, in the deals. 

Financial terms of the leases were not disclosed.

Defibtech LLC has leased a 16,000-square-foot space for five years. Defibtech manufactures defibrillators which are used in schools, colleges, public buildings, ships, private workplaces and more. The Guilford-based company plans to use the property for its warehouse and distribution needs. 

Frank Hird of O,R&L Commercial in Branford represented the tenant in the Defibtech lease.

In the second deal, Brite-Rite Electrical Services LLC is leasing a 2,855-square-foot space for three years.

Brite-Rite, which is expanding, will use the property for office and warehouse space, according to an announcement. The business is managed by Robert Benco, company president, and his wife, Lauren. The business installs generators, does electrical installations and upgrades, and provides specialty lighting to both residential and commercial customers.

The Geentys also represented the tenant in the Brite-Rite lease.

The building at 21 Commerce Dr., constructed in 1985, has 41,200 square feet overall, and it sits on 4.5 acres.
