The $7.5 million investment relocates the company’s operations from three smaller facilities in Chester.
Chapco Inc., a family-owned precision sheet metal fabricator, will host an official opening at its new headquarters and advanced manufacturing center this week in Deep River.
The $7.5 million investment relocates the company’s operations from three smaller facilities in Chester, and Chapco says the new 150,0000-square-foot center represents a revitalization of manufacturing in Deep River.
The company serves defense, medical device and industrial customers including Groton submarine maker Electric Boat.
Chapco President and CEO Brian Weinstein
has told the Hartford Business Journal he expects the company’s business with Electric Boat to grow significantly, making additional capacity and operational efficiency key factors behind the relocation.
Chapco also manufactures exterior casings for EV charging stations and data center equipment, as well as supplying power generation plants and even vending machine manufacturers.
The 60-employee company was founded in 1964 and has been family owned since 1987.
