Manchester Marine Dion joins Larson’s staff

A Manchester Marine injured in an Iraqi bomb blast four years ago has joined Congressman John Larson’s Hartford district office staff under the federal Wounded Warrior program.

Ryan Dion, 26, was injured when an improvised explosive device (IED) exploded in Fallujah, Iraq, in April 2007. The corporal received a Purple Heart for bravery.

Dion has been assigned as a veteran’s coordinator in the first-district congressman’s office.

“I’m grateful to the Wounded Warrior program for providing us with such a valuable new voice for the veterans’ community,” Larson said Wednesday.
