Gov. Dannel P. Malloy will chair the Democratic Governors Association in 2016, the organization announced.
At the DGA’s annual meeting Tuesday, members elected Malloy as chair-elect, meaning his one-year term will begin in 2016. The election comes a month after Malloy’s win in a tight re-election race against GOP challenger Tom Foley.
Montana Gov. Steve Bullock will succeed Vermont Gov. Peter Shumlin as chair for 2015.
