The governor has nominated eight Connecticut residents — two from the Hartford area — to serve on the state Board of Education.
One of Gov. Dannel P. Malloy’s nominees is a holdover appointment from his predecessor, M. Jodi Rell.
The eight are: businessman Joseph J. Vrabely Jr. of Glastonbury; retired teacher Patricia Keavney-Maruca of Watertown; farmer Terry H. Jones of Shelton; former teacher Ellen Camhi of Stamford; Pfizer manager Charles A. Jaskiewicz, III of Norwich; former educator Estela López of East Hartford; Metro-North executive Ferdinand L. Risco, Jr. of New Haven; and attorney Stephen P. Wright of Trumbull.
Vrabely was Rell’s appointee as an interim member in 2010.
