Gov. Dannel P. Malloy has chosen a successor for his outgoing chief of staff, Mark Ojakian.
Brian Durand, who has been deputy chief of staff since 2012, will succeed Ojakian, who was selected last week as interim president of the Board of Regents. Durand’s new role officially begins Sept. 28.
Durand previously worked for the Office of Policy and Management. Malloy said he has known Durand since 2004, when Malloy was mayor of Stamford.
Durand lives in West Hartford with his wife and two sons.
