Malloy bets another sweet tooth on UConn

Gov. Dannel Malloy will enjoy a nice dinner of Kentucky country ham with a side of Indiana chocolate if the UConn women’s and men’s basketball teams win their weekend Final Four games.

In a friendly wager on the outcome of the UConn-Notre Dame women’s game, Malloy put up gourmet chocolate from Munson’s Chocolate in Bolton against Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels offer of gourmet chocolate from the South Bend Chocolate Co. on the Notre Dame campus.

Friday’s bet with Daniels comes after Malloy wagered UConn Dairy Bar ice cream against a country ham from Kentucky Gov. Steve Beshear over the result of the UConn-Kentucky men’s game.

“I’m planning on a nice ham dinner, courtesy of the Governor of Kentucky-it will be wonderful to finish it with South Bend chocolate,” Malloy said in a statement. “The Fighting Irish are a formidable opponent with dedicated fans, but I have confidence that Geno and the UConn women will show them a great game, even if the scoreboard ultimately proves disappointing for Indiana.”
