Make-A-Wish Connecticut President and CEO Pamela Keough will retire Nov. 1 after leading the nonprofit for 13 years, the organization announced this week.
The Trumbull-based nonprofit’s board has named longtime Chief Development Officer Tara Navara as her successor, effective Nov. 2.
Make-A-Wish Connecticut, which is marking its 40th anniversary, grants wishes to children with critical illnesses. The nonprofit said it has fulfilled more than 4,600 wishes for children across the state.
Navara has worked for the organization for more than two decades. Make-A-Wish Connecticut said she helped lead a $6 million capital campaign to build The Wishing Place, its Trumbull headquarters, and helped generate more than $30 million in philanthropic support.
During Keough’s tenure, the organization said it opened The Wishing Place, which provides space for children and their families to plan and celebrate wishes.
The nonprofit reported nearly $6.5 million in revenue and $14 million in assets for the fiscal year that ended Aug. 31, 2025, according to its latest federal tax filing. It reported 24 employees and an estimated 300 volunteers.
