Professional services firm CohnReznick has relocated its approximately 200 Hartford employees to One Financial Plaza, also known as the Gold Building.
The firm moved Aug. 19 from the Metro Center, at 350 Church St., which has faced foreclosure. CohnReznick now occupies the entire 23,000-plus-square-foot 11th floor of the 26-story Gold Building.
The new office includes more than 165 workstations and private offices, along with conference rooms, smaller meeting areas, a pantry and employee lounge space, according to the firm. CohnReznick, which provides accounting, tax and advisory services, said it wanted to remain downtown.
“This is an exciting new chapter for our Connecticut team,” said Melissa Ferrucci, the firm’s office managing partner in Connecticut. “Our move to One Financial Plaza reflects CohnReznick’s continued investment in Connecticut and our commitment to providing the flexible, collaborative environment that empowers our people to serve clients across the firm.”
The 622,000-square-foot Gold Building is owned by a partnership of LAZ Investments and Shelbourne Global Solutions, which purchased the property for $70.5 million in 2019. The building is about 83% occupied, according to Jane Davey, director of asset management and acquisitions at LAZ Investments.
Law firm Shipman & Goodwin also recently announced plans to relocate its downtown Hartford headquarters to the Gold Building in the second half of 2027.
Davey said the ownership group is in discussions with several other prospective tenants.
“CohnReznick’s decision to invest in a significant downtown presence reinforces the continued strength and vitality of Hartford’s business community,” Davey said.
