Maier to retire from ad agency he founded

After 46 years at the helm, William F. Maier has announced he will step down as president of Farmington advertising agency Maier True Communication.

Founded in 1971, the agency will now be guided by an executive team led by President I. Todd Russell, Maier said.

Maier True Communication was among the first in the area to adopt new technologies that improve productivity and increase value to clients, Maier said, embracing the digital realm. The agency has experienced significant growth over the past several years, Russell said, the result of focusing on closer customer relationships, needs and emerging technologies.

“I can’t imagine a more gratifying career than I’ve had,” Maier said. “The relationships I’ve developed with clients and employees have resulted in lifelong friendships. It’s been a thrill helping our industry change dramatically over four-plus decades.”
