Magellan loses $74M customer

Avon health care benefits manager Magellan Health Services Inc. disclosed Wednesday that it’s losing a pharmacy customer at the end of the year that was worth $73.8 million to its top line in 2012.

The company did not disclose the customer’s name in the filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. The revenue from the customer was primarily from dispensing activity, Magellan said.

Revenue from the customer for the first half of 2013 was $43.3 million.

Magellan had $3.21 billion in revenue and $151 million in profits in 2012, up from $2.8 billion and $129.6 million in 2011.

Earlier this month, Magellan acquired Partners Rx of Arizona for $100 million in cash.
