Avon health care management company Magellan Health Services said the state of Florida has awarded it a contract to launch a Medicaid specialty health plan for patients with mental illnesses.
The Magellan Complete of Florida plan won approval in 40 of the state’s 67 counties.
The plan, to be implemented in 2014, builds on recent work Magellan has been doing in Florida.
It began enrolling Florida patients in a Medicaid HMO plan in June.
