Magellan Health, which until last year was headquartered in Avon, where it still has operations, said Tuesday that it has agreed to pay $55 million for Michigan’s 4D Management Systems.
Magellan said it will pay $55 million in cash, with the potential for an additional $30 million based on future membership targets and business retention.
4D serves managed care organizations, employers, and government-sponsored benefit programs.
Magellan said the deal adds scale and capabilities to its Magellan Rx Management unit and adds business in Medicare and healthcare exchange markets.
