Lynch helms Robinson & Cole

Veteran attorney John B. Lynch Jr. is the new managing partner at major Hartford law firm Robinson & Cole.

Lynch was elected to succeed attorney Eric D. Daniels, who in his nine-year tenure expanded the scope and depth of the firm’s practice and added nearly 100 lawyers. Founded in 1845, Robinson & Cole has more than 250 lawyers and 250 professional staff in eight offices in the Northeast and Florida.

Daniels remains with the firm, leading its business development efforts and staying active in civic and nonprofit leadership positions in the community.

“John is well-qualified to take over the leadership of our firm at this time having served as a key member of our managing committee and as a co-chair of our business practice for several years,” Daniels said. “He is well-prepared to deal with the opportunities and the challenges that lie ahead.”

Lynch joined the firm in 1984 and will continue as a member of the business transactions and finance practice groups. He has focused his practice on serving corporate and financial services clients with sophisticated business and commercial finance transactions, mergers and acquisitions, and general corporate work.

Lynch received his B.A. in economics and accounting from Holy Cross, cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa, and his law degree from the University of Virginia School of Law. Lynch is a director of Hartford Stage and an alumnus of Leadership Greater Hartford.

He also served on the Wethersfield Economic Development and Improvements Commission, the Entrepreneurship Institute and the Wethersfield Youth Advisory Board.

“My focus as managing partner will be to lead the firm and its management team in continuing to help our clients achieve their business and strategic goals,” said Lynch. “Continuing Robinson & Cole’s proud tradition as a civic and community leader will also be a very high priority.”
