Manchester manufacturer Lydall Inc. grew its third-quarter net sales 4 percent thanks to a surging quarter for its thermal and acoustical fibers segment, it reported.
Net sales were $98 million, up from $94.2 million during the third quarter of 2012.
Despite sales declines in its performance materials and thermal and acoustical metals businesses, a 32-percent year-over-year gain in the company’s fibers segment helped make up the difference.
Profits for the quarter were $4.6 million, up from $3.9 million during the same quarter last year.
For the first nine months of the fiscal year, Lydall’s revenue and profits are up 3.3 percent and 4.2 percent, respectively.
