Higher demand from the automotive sector boosted Manchester manufacturer Lydall Inc.’s revenue by 3.6 percent in its second quarter, but profits dipped 9 percent, the company reported.
Net sales increased $3.5 million to $101.1 million, up from $97.5 million during the same quarter in 2012.
The growth was driven by its thermal acoustics metals and fibers divisions, which posted a combined increase in sales of $6.3 million.
The metals segment — Lydall’s biggest — had higher tooling revenue during the quarter driven by North American and European launches of new vehicle platforms, Lydall said.
