Lydall names new v.p., general counsel

Lydall Inc. has named Massachusetts corporate executive Paul G. Igoe as vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary of the Manchester maker of thermal and acoustical insulation and other specialty engineered products.

Igoe succeeds longtime general counsel Mary A. Tremblay, who is taking a more flexible, part-time work schedule within the company to devote more time to her family, Lydall said. Tremblay’s relinquishment of her posts and Igoe’s hiring were effective Wednesday.

Since 2001, Igoe was associate general counsel and assistant corporate secretary for Teradyne Inc., a North Reading, Mass., supplier of automotive test equipment. He also is a former junior partner in the Boston law firm Wilmer Hale.

Lydall did not specify the new role for Tremblay, who has spent 18 years at the company.

But according to a Securities and Exchange Commission filing, Tremblay signed a two-year contract with Lydall in which she will devote at least 20 hours a week to company affairs and be paid an unspecified hourly rate. Her indemnification agreement with Lydall remains in effect, the filing said.
