Manchester manufacturer Lydall Inc. said fourth-quarter revenue gains in its thermal and acoustical metals segments helped drive profits up by 41 percent.
The company booked $4.1 million in net income for the quarter ended Dec. 31, or 25 cents per diluted share. That was up from $2.4 million, or 14 cents, in the same quarter of 2012.
Lydall said higher demand from automotive customers in Europe helped drive revenue to just under $100 million, up more than 10 percent year over year.
For the full fiscal year, the company netted $19.2 million, or $1.14 a share, compared to $16.8 million, or 99 cents, the year before. Revenue increased 5 percent to $398 million.
Lydall announced last month that it plans to acquire a filtration business in the U.K. for $83 million.
