Home improvement retailer Lowe’s will open its newest Connecticut store in Cromwell on Oct. 2.
The 102,000-square-foot store at 90 Berlin Road will feature an adjacent garden center, store officials said.
This will be Lowe’s 16th Connecticut store. The chain has more than 2,500 Connecticut employees.
Lowe’s said its stores that size typically represent an investment of about $12 million and create as many as 120 full- and part-time jobs at the store.

Based in Mooresville, N.C., 63-year-old Lowe’s Companies Inc. had fiscal 2008 sales of $48.2 billion at more than 1,675 home improvement stores in the United States and Canada.
Lowe’s is the nation’s second-largest home improvement chain after Home Depot.
