Although your mother would argue that it’s what’s inside that counts, company executives seem to disagree, especially when it comes to attire at the office.

In a recent survey by staffing firm Office Team, 93 percent of managers said that the way employees dress affects their chances of getting promoted.

That’s bad news for Generation Y workers. In a separate study, Office Team found that only 4 percent of those workers want to sport business attire on the job.
