Longtime CT insurance executive to lead USAA life subsidiary

Financial services company USAA has appointed a longtime Connecticut insurance executive and UConn MBA graduate as president of its life insurance subsidiary.

Rob Arena, who built much of his career in the state’s insurance sector, will begin his new role leading San Antonio, Texas-based USAA Life Insurance Co. on Jan. 5, 2026, the company announced.

Arena brings more than three decades of experience in life insurance, retirement services and asset management. He most recently served as co-president of Global Atlantic Financial Group, which has its Connecticut office in downtown Hartford.

He also previously held senior leadership roles at The Hartford and Prudential, and has been a board member of The Bushnell.

USAA Life Insurance Co. is part of the broader USAA financial services group, which sells insurance, banking and investment products mainly to military members and their families.
