Sara Longobardi will become top retail banker at People’s United Bank this spring, the Bridgeport lender says.
Presently senior vice president for customer relationship development and New York retail market leader, Longobardi will ascend to her new post following the March 31 retirement of Robert D’Amore, the bank said.
Longobardi spent more than 20 years at People’s United, including nearly 15 years in retail banking. She joined the bank in 1991 as audit supervisor.
In 1999, she moved to retail banking, to lead the bank’s Hartford North region. Longobardi has also led the bank’s greater New Haven market.
D’Amore began his career at People’s United as a management trainee 33 years ago. He advanced through the ranks and was promoted in 2000 to head retail banking, the bank said.
In Hartford, he was a former board member of The Bushnell performing arts center, the Greater Hartford Metro-Alliance, UConn Foundation board, and the Foundation of Catholic Schools – Archdiocese of Hartford.
