LONG-DISTANCE CYCLING TEAM RAISES $80,000

A team of 14 bicyclists from Burns & McDonnell’s regional engineering office in Wallingford raised more than $80,000 for cancer programs by riding the two-day, 190-mile Pan Mass Challenge from Sturbridge to Provincetown, Mass. Team Courage is made up of employee owners from across the firm’s areas of expertise — program managers, engineers, scientist, and geologists. Each had a reason that motivated them to participate, be it for something close to home, or in support of a friend or acquaintance who has battled or supported someone battling cancer. Over the past three years, the team has rasied more than $200,000 during its Pan Mass rides. Burns & McDonnell’s presence in Wallingfor has grown from three employees in 2004 to 130 today.
