New London’s Lawrence & Memorial Hospital paid $2.5 million for a former Pfizer Inc. building that will be refitted to consolidate the hospital’s affiliated physicians and their practices under one roof, authorities say.
The hospital bought the 48,000-square-foot office building at 194 Howard St. from Amber Properties LLC, realty brokers said Tuesday.
Physicians currently are scattered throughout L&M ‘s main campus and several converted homes along Montauk Avenue and in the Shaw’s Cove complex. Renovations are due to be finished in time for early 2014 occupancy.
Commercial broker Colliers International represented buyer and seller in the deal.
