Dr. Edison Liu, the president and CEO of the Jackson Laboratory, a nonprofit biomedical research institution with major operations in Farmington, plans to step down from those roles in Feb. 2022.
Liu, who has led the internationally prominent Maine-based lab since 2012, plans to remain at JAX as a professor, and will continue to lead a team of investigators studying cancer genomics with a focus on breast cancer.Â
He will also continue serving as director of the lab’s National Cancer Institute-designated Cancer Center until a leadership transition can be completed.
JAX has already started the search for Liu’s successor, and has published a call for candidates.
