Connecticut housing advocates and legal experts will join real estate agents, landlords and tenants for a fair-housing forum April 7 in Torrington.
The Litchfield County Board of Realtors Inc. is sponsoring the free public-service session at the Cornucopia Banqueting Hall, 371 Pinewoods Road, that begins at 7 p.m.
Guest speakers will include representatives from the Connecticut Fair Housing Center, the state Commission on Human Rights & Opportunities, Litchfield County Superior Court GA18, and the Winchester Emergency Shelter.
Speakers will address questions about filing or responding to a fair housing complaint, the eviction process, state and federal fair housing laws and landlord-tenant responsibilities under rental and fair housing rules and regulations.
