Northeast broadband service provider Lightower Fiber Networks announced Tuesday two new network expansion projects in the northern New York Metro region, including a leg between New Haven and Stamford.
The second expansion will add a new route between Westchester County, N.Y. and New York City. The routes will offer customers in the area access to all Lightower services, including low latency routes into and around New York City and New Jersey.
Cost was not disclosed.
As part of the Connecticut expansion, services will be expanded along the I-95 corridor between Stamford and New Haven, including Norwalk, Bridgeport, and Milford.
New York services will also be expanded between Yonkers and the Bronx, including Mt. Vernon, Bronxville and Hastings. Both expansions build upon Lightower’s already established network in the region, and will also expand the availability of dark fiber along these routes.
Lightower is based in Boxborough, Mass.
