Hartford-based LAZ Parking announced a new electric vehicle charger program that will place 500 Tesla chargers in LAZ-operated lots across the country.
The program will operate on a pay-per-use model, LAZ said. The company didn’t disclose how much customers will pay, but said rates would be competitive with comparable Tesla chargers in the area.
“This initiative recognizes the rapid growth of the electric vehicle market and positions our clients to meet the fast-growing demand for charging stations,” LAZ CEO Alan Lazowski said.
In a March interview with HBJ, Lazowski said the electric vehicle charger program is just one of several initiatives LAZ Parking will roll out over the next few years.
Those programs include adopting new technologies that allow for a completely hands-free parking experience, opening entirely new business lines within his parking properties like parcel delivery and ghost kitchens, and possibly installing solar panels atop parking garages.
