LAZ Parking to add EV chargers in 20 cities, including Hartford, over next five years

Hartford-based LAZ Parking will be adding electric vehicle chargers at parking lots it owns across the country.

LAZ announced earlier this week that it had entered into an agreement with Bp pulse to collaborate in the development, deployment and operation of the charging stations.

The hubs developed by Bp pulse are Level 3 ultra-fast chargers and are rated at 250 KW or higher. They can provide electric vehicles with a full charge in 30 to 45 minutes.

The chargers will be installed in 20 cities, including Hartford, over the next five years.

Bp pulse and LAZ are identifying locations for the new charging hubs in key metros and other areas with a high density of vehicles, according to the announcement.

Each site will be open to the public 24/7.

As part of the agreement, EV drivers will receive up to one hour of free parking when they charge using the Bp pulse app.

LAZ, founded in Hartford in 1981, manages and leases real estate comprising 1.6 million parking spaces in over 3,800 locations in 42 states and 477 cities in the U.S. and Canada.
