Hartford-based LAZ Parking will stage jobs fairs across the country on Wednesday in an effort to fill 3,500 open positions.
LAZ officials said the job expos will take place in 20 cities across 15 states, including in Hartford. Other cities on the list include New York City, Boston, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Washington, D.C. and San Diego.
According to LAZ job postings on employment site Indeed, the company is looking to hire valet attendants, snow removal workers, event staff, customer service representatives, maintenance specialists, shuttle drivers, cashiers, porters, supervisors and facility managers. Staffing needs vary by location.
LAZ Parking, which operates over 1.2 million parking spaces across the country, is in the midst of a push to modernize its operations, a strategy that includes deploying electrical vehicle chargers at its lots, offering last-mile delivery services and eventually capitalizing on company-owned real estate by converting portions of parking garages into warehouses. In May, the company bought Los Angeles-based parking meter management firm Serco Parking Services, adding about 230 employees.
