Attorney Gary Klein of Stamford has been appointed to a four-year term on the Connecticut Commission on Judicial Compensation.
The bipartisan commission evaluates the proper compensation for judicial officers in the state and issues recommendations to the General Assembly, which will then set judicial compensation for a four year period.
Klein is a partner with the law firm of Carmody Torrance Sandak & Hennessey, based in its Stamford office.

Oxford manufacturer announces senior leadership changes
RBC Bearings Inc., an Oxford-based international manufacturer of precision bearings and components for the industrial, defense and aerospace industries, has named Robert M. Sullivan as vice president and chief financial officer.
He replaces Daniel A. Bergeron, who will assume additional responsibility in the roles of vice president and chief operating officer.
John J. Feeney will become vice president, general counsel and secretary.
Sullivan joined RBC Bearings as assistant corporate controller in March 2016 and was appointed corporate controller in February 2017. He has over 13 years of experience in public accounting and auditing, and he is a certified public accountant.
Feeney joined the company as assistant general counsel in 2014.

City business gains recognition from SBA
The U.S. Small Business Administration has picked Maysa Akbar’s Integrated Wellness Group as its Minority-Owned Small Business of the Year.
Akbar founded the New Haven-based health and wellness practice 12 years ago. Akbar is a psychologist, author and healer. Akbar has created 13 jobs within her practice. She is board certified in clinical psychology and is an assistant clinical professor at Yale University.

Mark S. Hayward, SBA interim district director for Connecticut, said in an announcement that small businesses are the “backbone of our economy.”
According to Hayward, Akbar and her team have a “record of achievement” in providing much-needed services.
“Mental health is important at every stage of life, from childhood and adolescence through adulthood,” Hayward said.
Akbar added, “This esteemed recognition is an acknowledgment of the work we are doing at Integrated Wellness Group. We are making a difference in our communities. By offering an array of mental health services, including those specific to racial trauma, we are unraveling generations of trauma to forge generations of healing.”
