Law firm Carmody announces combination with CT legal practice

New Haven law firm Carmody Torrance Sandak & Hennessey is combining with New London’s Waller Smith & Palmer.

The expanded firm will operate under the Carmody name, and will incorporate three partners, two counsel and seven staff from Waller Smith & Palmer.

That brings the total number of attorneys at Carmody to 95, with 75 support staff.

Waller Smith & Palmer’s current office location at 52 Eugene O’Neill Drive, New London will remain open.

The New London firm was founded in 1885 and provides services in estate and probate law, municipal law, land use, personal injury and litigation.

“As one of Connecticut’s oldest firms, WSP has a rich history providing legal services to clients throughout New London and southeastern Connecticut,” said Carmody Managing Partner, Rick Street. “Together we will continue to deliver exceptional client service and successful results to clients.”

The merger was effective September 1.
