What do you do? I am responsible for developing external communications strategies that allow us to showcase our technology leadership, products and services, and the ways we give back to the communities we serve.

What do you want to be doing in 10 years? I always hesitate to answer this question because my career so far has been about opportunities coming my way that I would have never foreseen, which have provided me with great experiences and jobs that I might not have told you I’d see myself doing 10 years ago. However, if I had to answer this today, I’d say that I hope to be in a strategic communications leadership role that is all-encompassing. I believe it’s important that all communication within an organization — to customers and the community, to employees, to the media, to elected officials — falls under one umbrella. This ensures that everything an organization does is thought through for each audience and the messages that go out are consistent. I‘d love the challenge of making sure that happens.

What is your biggest strength? Curiosity, drive and a sense of humor. I am very curious and l love to continuously learn and I truly believe knowledge is power. It’s one of the things I love most about my job at Comcast – we always have a new cutting-edge product or service offering coming out and I love trying everything out, asking questions, learning about the technology and then communicating that out. I think my drive and determination is also a key strength because when I decide I want to do something, I go after it until I accomplish it and make sure that I do it well. And lastly, if you can’t have fun, what’s the point? I like to enjoy myself and laugh along the way.

Where do you go for new ideas? Multiple (and very different) places. I love to go on a walk with my dogs where I can just think without any distractions; I also like to chat and brainstorm with colleagues, friends and family members who have different perspectives and experiences. Or I go online – there are so many resources and ideas out there that can provide inspiration.

What is the best advice you received? Don’t waste your energy on telling people how smart or capable you are, show them. And it’s not advice, but I love William Penn’s quote, “The secret of happiness is to count your blessings while others are adding up their troubles.”

What service or charitable cause has your attention? It’s hard to name just one. First, human rights and equality are very important to me. I’m on the board of directors for the National Conference for Community and Justice (NCCJ), which works to fight bias, bigotry and racism. I also try to find ways to support the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society because I lost my mother to non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma when I was in college. And then there are animal rescues; my husband and I are both animal lovers and have two rescue dogs and a cat. There are so many amazing animals out there that need homes.
