Mission: To reduce the further spread of HIV/AIDS among the Latino community and other populations at risk and improve the quality of life and health outcomes of individuals affected by HIV/AIDS.
Background: Formerly Latinos Contra SIDA, LCS has 24 years of experience providing services to people living with HIV/ AIDS and people at risk for HIV infection. Latino Community Services (LCS) is the only Latino-led organization in Hartford dedicated exclusively to providing comprehensive and coordinated prevention, education, and care services to populations at risk. In the past year, LCS has served over 2,000 people. Funding for our services come from a variety of federal, state, and local philanthropic sources.
LCS offers HIV/sexually transmitted disease testing; prevention services; capacity building programs through the Healthy Families and Communities project; and services for people with HIV/AIDS, including case management, a food pantry, interpretation, medical transportation and medical adherence.
LCS is a member of Connecticut Association of Nonprofits.
