The eighth annual Latinas & Power Symposium drew more than 500 women to hear how personal branding can work for them. Rosario Marín, former U.S. Treasurer, delivered an inspirational keynote address. This year’s conference theme of “Celebrating YOU and Your Unique Style — Personal Branding” was presented in a series of workshops. At an awards event, Gloria Hernández, aerospace technologist at NASA Langley Research Center in Virginia, was presented with the Latinas & Power Science and Technology Award. Pictured are, from left, Peg Morton, vice president of governmental affairs at Northeast Utilities; Marin; State Rep. Andres Ayalay, who presented Marin a state proclamation; and Marilyn Alverio, producer/founder of the Latinas & Power Symposium.
