Connecticut Congressman John B. Larson, D-1st District, will discuss tax credits available to small businesses from health care reform at a forum Tuesday at Manchester Community College.
Larson, whose seat covers much of the Hartford area, is a member of the House Ways and Means Committee, which oversees the nation’s tax code.
Attending will be federal officials from the Commerce Department, Small Business Administration, Internal Revenue Service, Department of Labor, and Department of Agriculture.
State and municipal agencies also will provide an overview of the services they offer to small businesses.
The Manchester forum is the latest in a series of meetings between Larson and Hartford business owners to discuss access to federal financial-aid programs and resources  aimed at small business.Â
Hartford’s Small Business Development Center began offering free business counseling to entrepreneurs in the city’s North End following Larson’s meeting with them in January.
Registration opens at 8 a.m. followed by the seminar from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. in the SBM Charitable Foundation Auditorium on Great Path Road in Manchester.
Space is limited. RSVP by contacting Larson’s district office at 860-278-8888.
