Land transferred for new S. Windsor studio

The final parcels of property have been transferred to developers of Connecticut Studios, an independent movie and television studio planned for South Windsor.

Gov. M. Jodi Rell presided over a signing ceremony today.

The last 20 acres have been owned by the state and town. They’re adjacent to a 40-acre parcel that’s also been set aside for the project. The plan calls for eight sound stages, 100,000 square feet of office space and 100,000 square feet of mill space, where sets are built.

Hal Katersky, CEO of Connecticut Studios LLC., says the project wouldn’t be possible without the state’s tax incentive program for digital media and film.
