As Gov. Ned Lamont prepares to seek a third term in office, he will need to replace a key member of his administrative staff.
Julia Bergman, who has served as Lamont’s director of media relations since Oct. 2023, will stop down from that post at the end of this week.
Bergman confirmed to Hartford Business Journal on Tuesday that she is leaving to accept a job with Heller Inc., a New York-based communications and public affairs consulting firm.
Before being named director of media relations, Bergman had served as deputy communications director for Lamont since Feb. 2023.
Prior to joining the governor’s administration, she had served as a politics reporter for Hearst Connecticut Media Group. She also previously held reporting jobs at The Day of New London and AxisPhilly, and served as news director for KBIM Radio in Roswell, New Mexico.
