Bristol’s Lake Compounce amusement park said Wednesday it plans to hire 1,200 seasonal workers as it prepares to reopen on May 29.
The amusement park, which claims to be the oldest in the nation, will celebrate its 175th operating season this year. Gad Norton first opened a picnic park at the foot of Mount Compounce on October 6, 1846, which has evolved into the current attraction.
Workers are needed for food service, rides, admission, maintenance and other seasonal positions.Â
Park management said it is debuting a new look for Lake Compounce this year and adding a food and drink festival that will take place every Saturday and Sunday in June.
Lake Compounce is operated by Palace Entertainment, which owns and operates 21 major entertainment and educational venues across 10 different states.
