Lake Compounce launches 2024 season with improved roller coasters

Lake Compounce in Bristol will open for the 2024 season at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 27.

The amusement park is known for its nearly century-old Wildcat Roller Coaster, which will reopen after a major upgrade, and Boulder Dash Roller Coaster, which was re-tracked during the off-season.

It’s also home to Connecticut’s largest water park, Crocodile Cove, which will open on Saturday, May 25 for the Memorial Day weekend.

Lake Compounce is the longest-running amusement park in the United States. This year marks its 178th season.

There will be fireworks every night from July 4 to July 6, and on every Saturday in July.

Lake Compounce will end the season with Phantom Fall Fest, a Halloween-themed event that starts Sept. 21, and Holiday Lights starting on Nov. 29.
